When you switch on the printer, it'll ask you which language you speak immediately away. Select the correct language and the printer will start processing. You will then be prompted by the printer to insert the ink cartridges. Regarding the XP-6100, there exist five cartridges. If you don't insert the original printer cartridges, the printer won't function. Never shake the cartridges and hold off on opening the container until you're ready to install them. You may add more ink bottles to the ink tank on EcoTank printers. Do you own a printer like that? Step 2A might be skipped in favor of step 2B immediately after.
