Tadaflo 5 mg (containing tadalafil) is commonly prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or both. However, its use is contraindicated in certain situations due to potential adverse effects and drug interactions. Here are the key contraindications:

1. Allergy to Tadalafil or Ingredients
Avoid Tadaflo if there is a known hypersensitivity to tadalafil or any other component of the medication.
2. Concurrent Use of Nitrates
Tadaflo 5 mg must not be taken with nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate) commonly used for chest pain (angina). This combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
3. Severe Cardiovascular Conditions
Conditions such as:
Uncontrolled hypertension.
Recent heart attack (within the last 90 days).
Recent stroke (within the last 6 months).
Severe heart failure or unstable angina.
These conditions may be worsened by the drug’s vasodilatory effects.
4. Severe Liver or Kidney Impairment
Tadalafil metabolism is affected in these cases, increasing the risk of adverse effects. The drug may be contraindicated or require dosage adjustments.
5. Concurrent Use of Certain Medications
Avoid Tadaflo with:
Alpha-blockers (except tamsulosin under strict supervision).
Medications that strongly inhibit CYP3A4 (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir).
Other ED treatments like sildenafil or vardenafil.
6. Retinal Disorders
Conditions like non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) or severe retinitis pigmentosa increase the risk of vision loss when using tadalafil.
7. Deformities of the Penis
Conditions such as Peyronie’s disease or severe curvature of the penis may predispose users to priapism or injury during an erection.
8. History of Priapism
Individuals with conditions predisposing them to prolonged erections (e.g., sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia) should avoid Tadaflo.
9. Hypotension or Low Blood Pressure
Tadalafil may worsen hypotension and cause dizziness, fainting, or more severe complications.
Precautions to Consider
Even if there are no direct contraindications, caution should be exercised:

Age: Elderly individuals may metabolize the drug more slowly.
Alcohol Consumption: Can enhance blood pressure-lowering effects and lead to dizziness or fainting.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Tadalafil is not indicated for women but should be avoided unless prescribed for a specific condition.
Consult a healthcare provider before starting Tadaflo to evaluate personal risks and potential interactions with other medications or conditions.
