Shubman Gill hit his first century in T20 International competition at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, during the third game of 2023 against New Zealand. The match-winning performance of Gill included batting until the end of the inning as he hit 126 runs from his 63 deliveries along with 12 boundaries and 7 sixes. This outstanding innings in that match secured Gill his first T20 International hundred and made him the player who exceeded Kohli's previous 122-run high achieved against Afghanistan in 2022. ?Gill earned fifth place as the Indian cricketer to reach 100 in every cricket game following Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli through his 126-run performance against New Zealand.
